Customer Review: Got Fooled, don't buy Philips
I bought this tv and was really happy with it, until 12 months later the picture suddenly went black. My warranty had just ended a couple of days ago, I called Philips and they will not do anything at all to help me fix it. I searched online trying to look for a solution and stumbled to a bunch of people with the same problem with the Philips LCD tvs. Read the complaints yourself at http://www.consumeraffairs.com/home_electronics/philips.html
Customer Review: Great HD LCD TV!
This is my second HD LCD TV and it is great! It has excellent colors, blacks and set design. The speakers are rather weak, but I am comparing that to my HUGE sound system. The remote is long, but has good buttons. The set looks beautiful, except for the cheap looking shiny, plastic support on the base. Luckily it is mostly hidden in the shadow. The set up menus are thorough but relatively easy to use. Lately, while watching the Olympics in HD, I have noticed a bit of choppy motion blur. The high speed action gets a bit pixelly. But, with most movies and HD shows, I have not noticed it. The picture is smooth and crisp with great color. This is probably not the best TV in the world, but I can't tell. And for the price, it is perfect!

On February 17, 2009, television in the United States will undergo the biggest change since color television became available. By law, broadcast television channels must stop using the old analog method of broadcasting their signals and convert to transmitting in a digital format exclusively. If your television sets are already hooked up to a pay television service like cable or satellite, this transition will be seamless. But for people who have a analog or digital TV with an antenna will have to either buy a DTV converter box or consider switching to a pay TV service in order to receive their signal.

Probably the best bet for getting ready for the big switch is to weigh your options carefully. If you want to get more out of your television, perhaps you are ready to switch from the antenna to cable or satellite. If you have cable or satellite installed before the big switch in February, you won't have to worry about getting a converter box or missing out on any of your programming. Cable and satellite providers are offering deals right now to people who may still be on analog sets or people who are still on the antenna.

The switch to digital television is the perfect time for people to consider getting pay television service. Cable and satellite offers a wide range of programming and a crisp, clear signal that an antenna does not always provide. Cable and satellite offers a variety of levels of programming so if you are a casual viewer or a real television enthusiast, there is a programming option that is right for you.

If you are already thinking about investing in a high definition television set, then getting a cable or satellite subscription also makes sense. They offer a massive amount of programming in high definition, and there are no extra fees. If you are making an investment in a quality television, you should make an investment in quality television programming. Cable and satellite offer a diverse range of programming in high definition including sports, entertainment, news, and cultural events. Having the clear signal of cable or satellite will offer a better high definition viewing experience with more choices.

The switch from analog to digital was inevitable and many local broadcasters are already offering their programming in digital in preparation for February. You will definitely notice the distance in the signal and sound quality and when coupled with a cable or satellite connection, the local programming will take on a whole new dimension. This switchover is the perfect opportunity for people to upgrade their home entertainment systems and their home entertainment options. Cable and satellite subscriptions will have you prepared when the switch occurs, and you will enjoy more quality programming than you ever did with an analog signal.

So as you prepare for the switch from analog to digital, do some research and find out about the benefits of cable and satellite programming. There are bound to be sales and introductory offers so that would be the time to take advantage of them and enter into a subscription deal before the big switch occurs. Once the big day arrives, you will be glad that you invested in cable and satellite programming. It offers you a diverse range of programming with a crisp, clear and reliable signal with a seamless transition to digital.
